Concerned about the President’s behavior? Rather than remind you of the diagnosis of 27 mental health experts—that Trump is a malignant narcissist—I will quote “Harry P,” commenting on Charles Pierce, who wrote, “This [isn’t] funny any more. There is no bottom. None at all.”
Harry P:
“Greenland, it seems, was discussed by numerous people in the White House, none of them knowing that it was an autonomous entity with its own government. Any attempt to buy would have need to be approved by the Greenlanders who would have to contemplate the following salutary consequences:
– an end of their socialist health care system based on the Danish model (henceforth replaced by the fantastic Trump program)
– an end to their subsidized education, including free university education in any of the European Union states (university student debt being a small price to play for the right to plant Old Glory in Nuuk)
– an end to choice when it comes to abortions
– an end to their Danish model retirement pension
– the opening up of their fishing grounds to outsiders (the very reason Greenland left the EU, to keep out Portuguese, etc. trawlers)
– Greenland waters being much too clean, the EPA will take care of that
– undermining their native language in favor of American English (if you gonna have Mercan citizenship, you gotta speak English real good)
What could go wrong? Before it comes to that, the Greenlanders owe it to themselves to send missions to talk to people who became wards of Uncle Sam – Cubans, Puerto Ricans, the descendants of Queen Liliuokalani and Sitting Bull, and in particular their distant cousins, the Inuit in Alaska.”
